Ive had this app for just 2 days Every time a news story pops up and I try to go in it hangs at the main NBC app screen and never goes into the story Im deleting Bad
Pros unique easy to use interface Cons complete local coverage is very misleading Also the so Chicago section has been over run by far right opinions Has potential
I used this app daily for traffic map It was nice to see the color of the road so I know which route to take home Now your traffic section is filed with text boxes I dont have time to READ while driving It was do nice to pull it up before and glance at color STUPID idea to remove the map Time to delete and look for something else because this is useless now HATE the new app

Im a loyal WMAQ fan but after seeing all the reviews I was a little curious to see why there were negative reviews to this app I downloaded it and was very pleasantly surprised to see I completely disagreed with the bad press It was very easy to navigate stories were updated fairly often and I can get what need to know when I want it Simple and easy perfect for a news app I say CHEERS to this and I cant wait to see your iPad app you ARE making one right Quick and Easy info

This seemed nice enough at first but then annoying animated ads appeared and take up too much of the limited screen space I find myself not wanting to use it due to the annoyance factor Nice except for the annoying ads

I just deleted the app Every time I clicked on a news story from an alert a video from the story would play or a commercial which is even worse Plus the news articles were imbedded with links to other stories and of course other commercials Just because you can do something doesnt mean you should Too abrasive

Stories seem to break late on the app and the network is markedly slow to refresh the content Articles are interrupted with unrelated content disrupting any flow to the coverage Beyond breaking news the alerts obnoxiously ring your phone moments before the nightly news teasing you to watch Im convinced the app is intentionally designed to play secondfiddle to andor bolster the televised broadcast Waste of app Other local networks mobile apps marginally better Unfortunate I throughly enjoy the TV broadcast Marketing Ploy

Are you ever going to fix the screen size for the iPhone 5 It was fine for a while then an update broke it and here we are a couple of updates after it and still the screen size is not right The menu bottom is like 34 off the screen How am I supposed to use the app if I cant really use the menu iPhone 5 Screen Size
While the current design may be sleeker there are snags It takes longer for the new design to load Please bring back travel times and maps for the local express and freeways in the traffic section The new version only displays updates to crashes or construction It is of no value Loved the previous version

I would give this app no stars because it is a terrible example of a news app There are more grammar and spelling mistakes in these articles than should ever be in a professional news source This is NBC and it seems like this is some slapped together high school project with no editing Also there are obnoxious spam posts that get through from users that show up alongside the news articles that are slow to be removed With some standards and quality control this app could be useful Terrible disservice to Chicago and journalism
If youre looking for news forget this app All fluff Coolest rubber and plastic shoes for summer Even when you filter to news only you still get the filler pieces See Tina Feys first commercial How about putting some news out there NBC Chicago Dont bother with this app unless Us Weekly is your favorite reading material Not a news app

This is by far my fav news app It has top national and Chicago based stories Breaking news gets sent immediately with the correct notification set up in my phone Love the notifications in my iPhone Notification Center I have to say the latest update this week to click the breaking news notification and have the article open made this app complete I have been waiting and hoping this enhancement would be added Thank you Great app nice clean layout excellent breaking news alerts
Where are the traffic maps I used this map daily Now its useless Will be deleting Why would you change it
