This app is a download of lots of Wikipedia info about birds not a bad thing because there is a lot of great information on Wikipedia and it is often more current and accurate than youll find anywhere else You can search by image category or text for the bird you want to find It takes some time to download the info from Wikipedia but afterwards it is fast and the app is very stable The pictures are good and there are lots of links within the text to more information within the app and onto Wikipedia There are more expensive apps in the store with more birds and that include birdsongs but if youre mostly interested in looking up data about a particular bird rather than trying to determine what is what in the field then this could be the app for you Nice bird app

Do not waste your money on this app It just downloads stuff from Wikipedia and doesnt have information on many birds On top of that theres not an efficient way to search a category For instance if you want to search for a warbler you have to scroll down ad infinitum This app is junk and its an insult that they charge money for it Waste of money

I like the way that the app gives you an option to cache your info Two benefits here 1 Fetch info faster 2 Save your datasurf quota as you can do this over WIFI PS First download took me almost 10 minutes I dont think it was due to my WIFI speed so it could be a server connection Just note that when you do this the info is static It will be updated when you refresh the cache again Picture quality is pretty good Browsing is really easy As you can see in the screenshot you can browse by category Birds family search Birds name or Image Suggestion 1 Browse by geography This will help when you are in certain region of NA and you want to know what birds are available in the area 2 Flashcard mode since you already have the pics This can engage children as edutainment Nice portable reference
